Violin Playing Technique: Upper And Lower Bows

Upper violin bow: From the middle of the bow to the tip of the bow, the right elbow joint should be opened during the exercise, and then the elbow should be sent slightly forward; Start the forearm to drive the big arm to the tip of the bow, the wrist begins to droop, the arm is straightened, the right thumb is pointed obliquely downward, the little finger is slightly bent and naturally unfolded, at the end of the bow, before the upward bow begins, you should immediately feel the action of the bow, the shoulder and shoulder blades sink backwards, the back is relaxed, the wrist is slightly raised, and the forearm drives the big arm to push the bow.

Lower bow of the violin: from the base of the bow to the middle of the bow. Start with the bow root folded, open the right shoulder joint, and pull the passive forearm back to move the bow to the middle of the bow by sinking back with the upper arm and shoulder blades, so that the back of the hand, wrist and forearm are almost in a line. Before moving the bow from the bow to the bow root, I immediately have a premonition that the action of going up the bow relies on the upper arm to provide thrust; When reaching the base of the bow, the right thumb is pointed diagonally upwards, the little finger is naturally bent, and the bow shaft can be moved and held with ease to balance the weight of the bow at the other end, so that the bow and string go straight in motion.
